Bettie Maxine McGee was born September 14, 1939, in Bowie, Texas, to Eldon Lee Watts and Nettie V Gee Watts. She died Friday, April 11, 2025, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. Bettie completed her secondary education in Bowie, Texas, where she graduated with the Bowie High School Class of 1957. She was married April 18, 1958, in Bowie to Christopher Charles McGee.
Bettie spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. While living in Texas, she lived near a local school, and provided childcare for many of the teachers during school days. She and her husband made their home in Collinsville in 2015. Bettie was a strong woman of faith and attended Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading and working word search puzzles. Bettie dearly loved her family, especially the grandkids who affectionately knew her as “Memaw”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chris McGee, and two brothers, Darwin Watts and Bill Watts.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Craig Shaw and Pastor Billy Waller officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Monty McGee, Gilbert Stephenson, Justin McWilliams, Daniel Stephenson, Liam Cannon, and Nathan Shumaker. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Bettie’s memory to the Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 15320 North Highway 169, Collinsville, Oklahoma, 74021. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
