Bobby “Bob” Joe Brewer was born April 17, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children to Norvin Wilson Brewer and Ruth Louise Johnson Brewer. He passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. Bob was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1963. He was married to his high school sweetheart on October 13, 1964, in Tulsa, to Mary Ann Holderman. Bob was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army. He spent much of his working life as a shop foreman with Tulsa Gauge and Instrument. After his retirement, he and Mary moved to Grand Lake where they enjoyed the lake life full-time. While living in “retirement”, Bob worked part-time at Walker Hardware in Langley, Oklahoma. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends, but he especially loved fishing with his dogs, Brandy and then Sadie. In his final years, Bob and Mary moved to Owasso to be closer to family.
Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include his wife of over 57 years Mary, of the home; daughter Tammy Howson and husband Tim of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son John Brewer and wife Gretchen of Decatur, Arkansas; grandson Alex Caramanica and wife Jessica of Fairfax, Virginia; sister Janice Andrews of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and her family; brother-in-law John Holderman and wife Elizabeth of Richardson, Texas and their family; sister-in-law Martha Willis and husband Larry of Owasso, Oklahoma and their family; and his chocolate lab Nellie Belle. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Otho Brewer.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, with a Celebration of Life honoring Bob’s life at 6:00 p.m. at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel.
