Carolyn Sue Crownover was born on August 2, 1935, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Clarence Lyndon Lybarger and Ethel (Hurn) Lybarger. She passed from this life on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at her home in Owasso at the age of 87 years. Carolyn was raised and educated in Henryetta, Oklahoma where she was a cheerleader and football queen with the Henryetta High School Class of 1953. Carolyn was a dedicated servant to our Lord Jesus Christ. One of her best moments was being ordained as a deacon at Columbia Baptist Church in Virginia. She was also very involved at Central Baptist Church in Owasso and the Baptist Children’s Home. Carolyn was chief office manager and scheduler for congressman Mike Synar and Chief Office Manager for American Electric Power in Washington D.C. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, making flower arrangements, gel pen art, going to church, and volunteering at the Baptist Children’s Home Style Show.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Kevin Laufer officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Baptist Children’s Home, 12700 E. 76th St. N., Owasso, OK 74055.
Carolyn was a loving mother to her children and a special mammy to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed until we see her again in Heaven.
