04/24/2017 5:33:45 PM – The City of Owasso hosted eleven visitors from Peoples Republic of China and three Liaison Officers/Interpreters Monday afternoon.
The visitors are part of the International Visitor Leadership Program, where visitors are invited to the United States each year to foster mutual understanding through international educational, professional and cultural exchanges.
The Tulsa Global Alliance arranged for the international visitors to come to Owasso to learn about the impact of Volunteerism in U.S. communities and how volunteers are inspired to help foster a culture of service.
City Manager, Warren Lehr, shared information about the Character Program with the visitors; then Owasso Neighborhood Coordinator, Jerry Fowler, presented the Owasso Strong Neighborhood Initiative that includes volunteer programs such as Owasso CARES and Keep Owasso Clean and the positive impact that volunteers have on our community.
