04/02/2019 – Help Junior Achievement inspire the students to own their future economic success.
Through engaging, hands-on activities, elementary students gain skills in financial literacy and workforce readiness.
Teach alone or bring a friend and share the fun
Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success. Our programs educate young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics through the support of teachers, parents and volunteers in the classroom. Junior Achievement provides hands-on experiences to help young people understand how the real world works.
In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement helps educate students in personal finance and practical workplace skills, preparing them to pursue their careers as well as their dreams.
Roles of a JA Volunteer for this Event: • Present six—45 to 50-minute activity-based lessons before school ends for the day. These lessons are presented all in one day, and you will be with the same students for each lesson. • Serve as a positive role model. • Share personal stories as they relate to the lessons. • Have fun!
Things to Know: • Teacher always remains in the classroom. • All materials are provided, including a step-by-step lesson plan book. • Training is offered for new volunteers. • Previous teaching experience is not required—JA materials are not made for veteran teachers, they are made for an average person to pick up and follow a guidebook.
