12/28/2018 – Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a fatality collision occurred December 28th, 2018 at approximately 5:28am on SH20, 290 feet west of NS4200, 3 miles east of Claremore, in Rogers County, Ok.
Ray Jenkins, age 91, of Claremore, was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra eastbound on SH20. He proceeded eastbound on SH20, performed a U-turn and proceeded westbound in the eastbound lanes, striking a 2014 Hyundai Elantra head on.
Jenkins was transported to Hillcrest Claremore by Pafford EMS, where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
Kyle Townsend, 31 of Collinsville was the driver of the Hyundai, and was transported by Pafford EMS to St. John Hospital in Tulsa, where is was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal and external as well as arm injuries.
