Darla Ann Pavey Higginbotham, 60, returned to her heavenly home on March 4, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Darla was born in Tulsa, OK on March 5, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Nita Pavey. She was employed at American Bank of Oklahoma as a Vice President. She cherished her job and taking care of her customers.
Darla was blessed with a large family. She married Tony Higginbotham on September 15, 1978 in Robinson, Illinois. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and sister. She adored spending time, whether it be playing games, cooking, shopping, planting flowers and sleepovers with her grandkids, Jayden, Raina and Rilynn. She and Tony had a love of horses and was actively involved in raising quarter horses for 20 years. She looked forward to family gatherings, always making sure to fix everyone’s favorite dish. Her thoughtfulness and kindness will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Darla is survived by husband, Tony Higginbotham, daughter, Jessica Higginbotham, grandchildren, Jayden Haynes, Raina Younger and Rilynn Younger. Brother Danny Pavey and wife Linda. Sister Denise Pavey and Brother Doug Pavey and numerous nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by Earl and Nita Pavey and Brother David Pavey.
The funeral service will be held on Friday March 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Hermon Wood officiating. Internment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
