David F. Kittrell of Talala, OK passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. He was 72. Dave was born on June 2, 1944 in McAlester, OK to Floyd L. Kitrell and Golda Lee Steadman Kittrell. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. After Vietnam, Dave moved to the Talala area where he met and married Carlene Proffitt in 1977. He was very mechanical and worked on anything from cars to tanks while in the military. As a result of this, Dave worked as a fabricator, creating needed parts until his retirement. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the woods. He always had a garden and loved smoking meat and cooking, especially if he had a crowd of family and friends to feed.
Dave is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carlene Kittrell of the home; his daughter Amy Bailey and husband Scott of Owasso; his son Josh of Collinsville; three grandchildren, Corbin Bailey, Kaylyn Bailey, and Kendall Bailey all of Owasso; his sisters, Sandy Lucas and husband Steve of Talala, and Sara Graham and husband Kerry of Copan; grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a Memorial Fund in Dave’s name at RCB Bank. Details to follow.
