David Lynn Freeman, age 83, resident of Owasso, passed away Sunday evening, April 20, 2014, at his home. David was born July 6, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Preston Ernest and Ethel Demma (Montgomery) Freeman. He spent his high school years in Enid, Oklahoma, graduating from Enid High School. On August 24, 1950, David was inducted into the US Air Force where he served in Germany. He was discharged on September 10, 1954, with the rank of Staff Sergeant. David worked in inventory control for various companies. On February 18, 1984, David was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean (McDaniel) Webber in Owasso. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Owasso and enjoyed golf, gardening and was an excellent auto mechanic.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are his wife Dorothy of the home; children: Charles Edward Webber of Campbell, California; David Joseph Webber and wife Linda of Owasso; Suzanne Webber of Cypress, Texas; and Edward Frederick Webber and wife Candace of Inola, Oklahoma. Also surviving is a brother, Richard Freeman and wife Gwen of Tulsa; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in the sanctuary of the Grace Baptist Church of Owasso with Pastor Dean Tucker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mowery Funeral Service. Private family committal services will be held at a later date in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, with military honors being accorded by the United States Air Force.
