Dayton Coble Moats was born on March 21, 1931 in Happy, Texas to Charles Moats and Frances (Lockett) Moats. He passed from this life on Friday, December 11, 2020 at his home in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. He was raised and educated in Happy, Texas where he attended Happy High School. Dayton was married on November 25, 1968 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Grace Marie (Owens) Moats. He spent most of his working life as an electrician with Kenny Electric in Tulsa. Dayton has been a faithful member of Life Church in Owasso for the past 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Grace Moats of Collinsville; son Roger Moats and wife LaTasha Moats of Collinsville; stepson Larry Turner and wife Kim Turner of Owasso; grandchildren Tiffanie Palmer and husband Christopher Palmer of Owasso, Meghann Kannett and husband Kris Kannett of Owasso, Jillien Chavez and husband Marco Chavez of Collinsville, Dodger Turner of Owasso, Kyndall and Emilee Trentman of Collinvsville, and Gracie Moats of Collinsville; great grandchildren Braylynn and Kayden Palmer of Owasso, and Klaire Kannett of Owasso.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Leroy, Charles, and Benny, and 1 sister, Dixie.
