Bill “Mo” Mozingo was born August 14, 1963, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to William Elmer and Helen (Griswood) Mozingo. He died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 51 years. Mo was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and played football for the Owasso Rams. He graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1982. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army. He continued his education attending Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice. Mo began his law enforcement career with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s office. He joined the Owasso Police Department in 1991 and was currently working as a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. He was married September 9, 2000, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to Angela Wesley. Mo was also very active in giving back to the community having coached football for the Owasso Rams and the Owasso F.O.R. programs. He also taught forensic science classes at Owasso High School. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including camping and just working on different projects. Mo had a fun if not strange sense of humor and was never short of jokes and one-liners to share with his friends and colleagues.
Loving family members include: His wife; Angela, of the home Three children; Andy Mozingo, of Owasso Andrea Ellis and her husband Ryan, of Oklahoma City Jessica Snodgrass and her husband Justin, of Yukon, Oklahoma Two grandchildren; Aidan Mozingo and Ryan Dehart Sister and brother-in-law; Martha and Jim Robinson, of Springdale, Arkansas Mother-in-law and father-in-law; Dorothy and Nelson Wesley, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Owasso High School Mary Glass Performing Arts Center with Pastor Mike Napier officiating. Flag presentation will be provided by the Owasso Police Honor Guard. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Owasso Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #149, P.O.
