With the recent storm damage, make sure you do NOT get scammed when looking for a roofer:
What to look for in selecting a roofer.
1) Are they registered with the State of Oklahoma and are in current “Good Standing”
– Just because a roof has a registration number doesn’t mean they are in current “Good Standing”
– Verify a roofer by going to the Construction Industry Board of Oklahoma’s website. Ok.gov/cib/
– All commercial roofers must have a “commercial endorsement” attached to their registration number.
2) All roof replacements have to have a permit from the City of Owasso.
3) What is their Better Business Bureau rating.
4) Are they a member of ORCA (Oklahoma Roofing Contractors Association)
Number one is the most important, if a roofer is in currant “good standing” then they have met all the requirements for the State of Oklahoma.
This is a state law that not many people are aware about.
Number two, the city inspector is very strict about getting a permit and about protecting the consumer.
Number three and four are organizations every reputable roofer should be members of.
