Don Robert (“Bob”) Brough, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully in his home in Owasso, Oklahoma on the morning of August 21, 2022.
Bob was born October 5, 1943 in Coalville, Utah and was the third of five children of Donald Porter Brough and Vera Francis. After graduating from Morgan High School in 1961, he enrolled at Weber State College. He served as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission from 1963 to 1965.
Following his missionary service, Bob met the love of his life, Julia Dean Crabtree. They were married on April 14, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. Upon his graduation from Weber State College in 1968, he and Julia relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he began a career in engineering with Honeywell, Inc. They would spend 24 remarkable years in Minnesota.
In 1992, Bob accepted a position at Intercontinental Manufacturing in Garland, Texas. He and Julia would spend the next 11 years living in Allen, Texas. Then, in the summer of 2002, Bob’s final career move brought him and Julia to Owasso, Oklahoma. He retired from his position at Labarge, Inc. in March of 2014.
Bob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities during his life, including bishop, stake high councilor, stake executive secretary, and his most recent service as president of the Tulsa Young Single Adult branch for the past 10 years. He also had a great love for the temple and served for 10 years in the Dallas Texas Temple and three years in the Oklahoma City Temple. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and followed His admonition to serve and love others.
Bob is survived by his sweetheart and eternal companion, Julia; his six children, Jerilyn (Brian), Rob (Holly), Jeff (Robin), Mike (Meredith), Steven (Crystal), and Jennifer (Anthony); 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his four sisters; and more dear friends than can be counted. He is preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Nicole Crandall.
