Doris Janelle Knight was born February 4, 1936, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to William McKinley Campbell and Ethel Minnie Stillwell Campbell. She died Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Janelle completed her secondary education in Tulsa Oklahoma and graduated with the Central High School Class of 1954, known as “The Golden Class”. During high school began working at Fourth National Bank in Tulsa. She met William Kenneth Knight, and four weeks later they were married on May 4, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was her lifetime sweetheart and she dearly adored and loved him. Janelle spent most of her professional career in the mortgage and banking industry. She stopped working for a time after having children and was a stay-at-home mom caring for her family. As her children got older, Janelle went back to work as loan officer with Guarantee Bank and Trust.
Janelle was a strong woman of faith and attended Clark United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes especially traveling with “Her Billy” and friends, particularly going on Alaskan Cruises, as well as Hawaii, Paris, and other destinations. She and Bill eventually moved to the Baptist Village in Owasso. She devoted herself to caring for him through his later years until his passing on February 28, 2011. She then became an active member of First Methodist Church in Owasso. She volunteered once again helping in the kitchen with church dinners and fellowships
Janelle volunteered with Assistance League of Tulsa, and Ascension-St. John in Owasso. She was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed watching golf. Janelle was an excellent cook and was famous for her “Grams lasagna”. Janelle was a huge fan of the singing group, “The Lettermen”. She followed them to many concerts in Las Vegas and in Branson. They began to recognize her and eventually she would join them for dinners and gatherings after concerts, but she would be quick to point out she was not a groupie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Knight, son, Jason Knight, brothers, Gene Campbell, Bob Campbell, and Jerry Campbell, and sister, Norma Swan, .
