Dorothy Jean Webber Freeman was born May 23, 1934, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Joseph Douglas McDaniel and Elsie Elma Smtih McDaniel. She died Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Dorothy completed her secondary education in Gage, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Gage High School Class of 1952. She continued her education studying in business college which would prepare her for a career as an office secretary. Dorothy would work as a medical secretary for Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck. After relocating to Tulsa, Oklahoma, she would serve in the offices of Eastwood Baptist Church.
Dorothy was a strong woman of faith and had always been active with the local church, most recently Grace Baptist Church in Owasso. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially working in her garden, which was large enough for her to be able to share fruit and vegetables with family and friends. Dorothy also enjoyed birdwatching, and even had a rabbit that would visit outside her window when she lived at the Owasso Baptist Retirement Village. She liked to spend time reading and studying her Bible. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Grandma”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Elsie McDaniel, first husband Charles E. Webber, second husband David Lynn Freeman, and brother, Duane McDaniel.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Chris Terry officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Ed Webber, Joe Webber, James Webber, Thomas Webber, Dustin Neuenschwander, and Tyler Gardner. Final resting place will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Dorothy’s memory to the John 3:16 Mission, 506 North Cheyenne Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74103, or www.john316mission.org.
