Elfrieda Francis Phelps was born April 22, 1928, in Goessel, Kansas, to Herman J. Frey and Anna Nikkel Frey. She died Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years. After completing her high school education, Elfrieda attended Bible Baptist College, in Springfield, Missouri. She was married August 17, 1951, in Newton, Kansas, to Estil Roy Phelps. Elfrieda served alongside her husband as a ministers wife as well as caring for her family. She was strong in her faith and was a longtime active member of Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle.

Jackson Montgomery
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. E.R. Phelps, sisters, Elma Regier and Rosella Fleming, brother, Abraham C. Frey, daughter-in-law, Linda Phelps, and great grandson, Braden Potter.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle with Pastor Gary Boyd officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Elfrieda’s memory to the Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle Church Camp Fund, 13300 East 136th Street North, Collinsville, Oklahoma, 74021.
