Fred Severs Green, Jr., resident of Owasso and formerly of Tulsa, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his residence. He was 72 years of age. Fred was born at Okay, OK to Fred Severs and Lela Bella Green. Fred’s mother died when he was very young and his father married Lorraine, who raised him and he considered his mother. He was raised at both Bacone and Okay, OK, graduating from Okay High School. Following high school, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country honorably. When he returned from the military, Fred continued his education and also began a career as an over the road trucker, a job he very much enjoyed. In later years, Fred also worked security. He lived most of his life in Tulsa until moving to Owasso in January of 2015. One of his pastimes was collecting guns.
Those that survive include his sons – Loren Green and wife Irina of Bixby, OK and Lonnie Green and wife Dana of Owasso; one brother Bobby Green and wife Mary of Tulsa; two sisters – Anna Duncan of Ft. Gibson, OK and Iwannah Bonnaha of Sapulpa, OK. Also surviving are four grandchildren – Taylor, Tanner, Gabriel and Caleb Green. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Ruth and Tamsye.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Fred’s life on Friday evening April 1, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm in the Dogwood room of Mowery Funeral Service. Cremation will take place, and Fred’s ashes will be interred at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK at a later date.
