The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the nation’s largest girl-led business and leading financial literacy program for girls. It is a key element of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
The benefits of the Girl Scout Cookie Sale are more than just financial. Girls also learn about goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
Quick Facts About the Cookie Sale
• Girls begin selling cookies directly to the public on February 6, 2016.
• Booth sales begin February 19, 2016, and all sales continue until March 20, 2016.
The Cost
• $4.00 Per Box
• $.50 goes to the troop for program activities, travel opportunities and communityservice projects.
• We are participating in a pilot sales program selling gluten-free cookies again this year. We will have a very limited quantity and they will be $5.00 per box.
• Approximately $.30 is reserved for the individual girl as Cookie Credit – girls can usethis for activities like resident camp, day camp and travel opportunities AND they can purchase uniforms, pins, patches and camping supplies and fees.
• All of the remaining proceeds stay in the council to underwrite program activities, train adult volunteers, maintain facilities and fund the girl financial assistance program.
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend!
• Set for February 26-28, 2016, National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend (NGSCW) celebrates the world’s largest girl-led business and the five essential skills girls learn by selling Girl Scout Cookies.
• Locally, several celebrations are in the works, and details will be published as they become available.
• Nationally, Girl Scouts of the USA will host a Google+ Hangout and a 50-state blog tour featuring bloggers from each state.

Reminder: Booth sales run from Feb. 19 – Mar. 20, 2016.

All cookie proceeds stay within the council where the cookies are sold. Cookie selling is avoluntary activity.
