Tulsa, OK – The pizza is out of the oven, as they say… with Oklahoma’s own Hideaway Pizza confirming the rumors and reports that they do indeed plan to open a new location in the city of Owasso in spring of 2014.
The locally owned pizza chain is under contract to buy and build a 5,000-square foot stand-alone restaurant on an out parcel in front of Sam’s Club at 96th and Hwy 169. The new location will feature a full bar, big screen tvs, and unique to this location, a mezzanine level for dining.
While various rumors have had a Hideaway Pizza coming to Owasso for several years, co- owners Darren Lister and Brett Murphy confirm that this time the rumors are true.
“We have been wanting to build a store here for a long time, and were waiting to find the right location that fits our specific needs,” Lister, an Owasso resident, said. “There is not a week that goes by that we have not been asked when we would be building a Hideaway in Owasso.”
He said the restaurant will add 60-80 new jobs to the Owasso market. The restaurant will seat approximately 190 people. Although there are rumors floating around about rooftop seating, that is not the case. “Our design is not complete yet, and although rooftop seating would be really cool, this is not the case,” Lister said.
Darren Lister and Brett Murphy own Hideaway 2, Inc., which owns and operates 12 locations throughout Oklahoma. The original Hideaway was established in 1957 in Stillwater next to the OSU Campus.
