James “Dowell” Thomas, life-long resident of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Cleveland Oklahoma, at the age of 51. Dowell was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Norwood Thomas.
Dowell is survived by his son, Zack Thomas, his daughter, Addison Thomas, sister, Rinda Thomas and husband Kirk, sister, Jana Hyde, and father, Bob Thomas. “Bubba” Dowell was also an uncle to five nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. Dowell
was born October 2, 1970, in Maxine and Bob Thomas. Dowell was born October 2, 1970, to Bob and Maxine Thomas at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1988. He was active in 4-H and a member of the Pride of Owasso marching band. Dowell worked for many years as an electrician at Oil Capital Electric and Lighthouse Electric. Dowell was outgoing and loved to laugh and joke with family and friends. Dowell enjoyed a variety of pastimes including hunting, fishing, and hot rods. He was also an avid John Wayne fan. He was a talented and award-winning painter in his younger years. His outgoing personality and heartwarming laugh will be missed by all.
