Jenene Carol Edwards was born June 8, 1936, in Eaton, Ohio, to Albert and Esther Bertha (Chowning) Rust. She passed Friday, May 22, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Jenene was reared and educated in Ohio where she completed her high school education. She was married June 26, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, to Dan Edwards. They had made their home in Owasso since 1972. At that time, Jenene attended and earned her Associates Degree at Tulsa Junior College. She spent much of her working life as a librarian at the Tulsa City-County Library in Owasso, where she was very involved in the children’s reading program. She was a member of the Owasso Historical Society, Owasso’s Quilters Guild, and Friends of the Library.
Loving family members include: Two sons; Dirk Edwards and his wife Michelle, of Miami Ok, Doug Edwards of Owasso Five grandchildren; Dusty Edwards and wife Star ,Dylan Edwards and wife Kiali Breianna Edwards, Daltyn Edwards, Daniel Edwards Three great grandchildren; Devan Edwards, Dean Edwards, and Drake Edwards ,Brother; Bruce Pfolsgrof, Sister; Linda Woods
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dan Edwards, and brother, Jerry Rust.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Chaplain Horace S. Wellons officiating. Committal service and entombment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tulsa City-County Library, Children’s Reading Program, 6500 East 44th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
