Joe Ian Blackford was born on June 10, 1936, in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Frank Hilliard Blackford and Ruby Kathleen (Pinney) Blackford. He passed from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home in Collinsville at the age of 86 years. Joe was raised and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1955. He went on to attend classes at the University of Tulsa, where he won a Rifle Championship on the T.U. rifle team. Joe served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. He was married on April 27, 1957, in Tulsa to Marilyn Sue (Holden) Blackford. Joe worked various jobs as a salesman but spent most of his time with Pepsi Co in Tulsa. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Oklahoma for 50 years. He was also a member of the Collinsville Masonic Lodge and Kiwanis community service organization. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography.

Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Oklahoma with Pastor Tim Prock officiating. Graveside and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services and arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
