Johnny “John” Ray Rumley was born on February 27, 1941, in Rogers, Arkansas to Charles Rufus Rumley and Velma Lou (York) Chaney. He passed from this life on Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. John was raised and educated in Rogers and graduated with the Rogers High School Class of 1959. He went on to attend classes at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. John enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was married on May 31, 1963, in Rogers, Arkansas. John spent most of his working life as an owner of Sir Knight Formal Wear in OKC and Tulsa. He spent his last years working as a Claims Supervisor with Prime Trucking in Springfield, Missouri. John spent most of his time working, but he also enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He was a faithful member of Owasso Church of Christ since moving to the area in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Velma, and his stepfather, SJ.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Church of Christ in Owasso with Dan Schnell officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Services and arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
