John Wayne Barros was born April 7, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to John Wayne and Susie Mae Jones Barros. He died Sunday, December 20, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. John completed his secondary education in Little Rock and was a graduate of Little Rock High School. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was married August 13, 1955, in Little Rock to Mary Frances Hurst. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1973. He spent most of his working life as a crew chief with American Airlines before his retirement in 1996. John and Frances attended St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including fishing, but especially traveling the country in his RV. He had been to all 50 states and 10 countries in Europe.

Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Darin McCarty officiating. Final resting place will be at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
