Joseph Francis Fleming was born June 16, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Sacramento, California, at the age of 73 years. Joe received his education beginning at San Joe State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. He then graduated with his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Afterwards, he finished his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego as Chief Resident. He spent most of his professional career as an ophthalmologist. He was married February 22, 2007, in Nevada City, California, to Tammie Voss. Joe enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially magic and his performances as a magician. He was a member of the exclusive Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, where he performed many times. Joe also enjoyed listening to his favorite musical group, The Moody Blues. Joe was also the consummate prankster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Lee Wiseman and his former spouse, Judy Fleming, with whom he shared three children.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Chad Balthrop officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Joe’s memory to the Boy Scouts of American, Indian Nations Council, at OKSCOUTS.ORG, select “Donations” and use “Other” for District. Under comments type “Joe Fleming Memorial”.
