Joyce Marie Reinking was born on February 13, 1930, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Frank Anthony Long and Gertrude Joyce Long (McMurtry). On September 21, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joyce went home to her Lord and Savior at the age of 94.
Joyce was reared in Oklahoma City, later moved to Frederick, Oklahoma and graduated with the Frederick High School Class of 1948. She worked in a bank until she met her future husband Robert (Bob) Richard Reinking at a family friend’s house. Bob pursued her until she agreed to marry him, and they were wed on May 27, 1951, in Coffeyville, Kansas, enjoying nearly 69 years of marriage.
They began raising their family in Coffeyville, Kansas then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1955. For most of her life she worked in the home raising their three children, and later in life worked in the microfilm department and retired from Crane Carrier in Tulsa. She lived the last 5 years of her life at Baptist Village of Owasso.
Joyce loved Jesus. She attended Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa for over 50 years and for the last five years attended Silver Creek Church of the Nazarene in Owasso. She loved singing and sang enthusiastically in church choirs. She was a voracious reader and loved to visit, volunteer, and help raise funds for the Tulsa Libraries. She volunteered and helped raise funds for various charities including Meals on Wheels. Joyce loved her choir friends, Sunday School class and friends in the Methodist Women’s Circle groups.
Joyce loved her family. She adored her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, and she prayed daily for all of them. She attended many, many activities and loved on them every chance she got. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert Richard Reinking, her parents Frank and Gertrude Long, and her sons-in-law Tim White and Danny Carter. Those who will be missing her terribly are her children Kathy White, Richard and wife Karen Reinking, and Linda Reinking. Her grandchildren David White and wife Kimberly, Angela Force and husband Corey, Beth White, Amy Billings and husband Wayne, Rachael Seymour and husband Shawn, and Daniel Reinking and Fiancé Paige. And her great-grandchildren Jackson, Ava, Lauren, Isabel, Brooks, McCartney, Bobby Grace, Luke, Malachi and baby Campbell on the way.
