Julie Ann Walker, resident of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the age of 41. Julie was born November 6, 1972 in Shreveport, LA to Janet (Patterson) and Jerry Walker. She was raised and received her education there, graduating from Parkway High School. Julie came to Tulsa 12 years ago and was a project coordinator for AEP. She has made her home in Collinsville the past three years. During the past few years, Julie continued her education by obtaining her Associate’s degree, then her Master’s degree. Julie attended Life Church and was a past member of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. She had a passion for animals, volunteering time with animal adoption groups, was an advocate for dog parks and was also a volunteer with Special Olympics. As an animal lover, Julie was the proud parent of two dogs and two cats.
Those that survive include her mother and Step father – Janet and Bill Abbitt of Collinsville; a step sister Jaime Hanks and husband Roman of Stanley, LA and their children Kayli, Romie and Carli; a step brother Mark Abbitt and fiancée Samantha of Shreveport, LA and their son Jaxon. Also surviving is an Uncle Gene Patterson of Dothan, Alabama. Julie was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial services for Julie will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Rev. Leonard Pirtle officiating.
