Karleen B. Hall Medaris wat the second twin daughter born to Robert and Sara (Kitty) Hall on August 23, 2951, in Alameda, California. She passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years.
Karleen attended elementary school in San Lorenzo, California, and began high school at De Anza High School in El Sobrante, California. The family moved to Oklahoma prior to Karleen’s junior year, and she subsequently graduated from Jenks High School in 1969. She completed Keypunch School in 1970, following her mother’s footsteps.
After completing Keypunch School, Karleen worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. Then she discovered her true occupational gift – Sales! She managed a group of sales professionals working for Olan Mills Portrait Studios, starting with one sales group and expanding to three. She also traveled to other locations to train incoming managers and act as a consultant. Her career began in Tulsa, and over the next 20 years, she and her family relocated to Oklahoma City, Fort Worth, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas.
Upon retiring, she returned to Owasso, Oklahoma, and began her own publishing company, creating business cards and notecards which she sold to individuals and office supply companies.
Karleen accepted Jesus as her Savior at Sherwood Forest Free Will Baptist Church in El Sobrante, California. She had a beautiful alto voice and was active in the music ministry. When the family moved to Oklahoma, they attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Owasso, (now Rejoice Church). Karleen was again active in the music ministry, singing in the choir, with various vocal groups, as well as solo. She especially loved singing with her sisters. She was also part of the church’s first bus ministry program, visiting homes each Saturday and arriving early every Sunday morning to run her bus route.
She loved making crafts and decorating, and she made a beautiful home for her family. She also loved flowers – both receiving them and caring for them. She always made sure the graves of loved ones were cared for, and enjoyed maintaining her flower garden at home. In her younger years, she was an avid photographer.
