Kathleen Elisabeth Allen was born May 1, 1939, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Ehm Jacob Sorensen and Flora Dora (Shiek) Sorensen. She passed from this life Sunday, October 29, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Kathleen was reared and educated in Alliance, Nebraska where she graduated with the Alliance High School Class of 1957. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska and then earned her Master’s Degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Kathleen was married to Joe Wesley Allen in Alliance, Nebraska on August 16, 1959. She spent most of her working life as an Administrative Assistant for Phoenix Federal Savings and Loans. Kathleen attended First United Methodist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma when her health would allow. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including working puzzles, playing bridge, traveling internationally with Joe, and enjoyed spending time with her cat, Sugar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ehm and Flora, husband, Joe, and her brother, Clair.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Pleasantview Cemetery in Pickrell, Nebraska. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
