Kathy Sue Dycus, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on November 29, 2024, at the age of 62.

Kathy was born on December 16, 1961, in Aurora, Colorado, to Carl and Shirley Wiesinger five minutes after her twin sister Karen. Shortly after her fathers’ retirement from the Army, Kathy’s family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she grew up. Even though Kathy was a very shy child, she began working at 14 years old for Borden’s Cafeteria.

Kathy graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1980 and married Kevin Dycus then began her lifelong career as a bank teller. Shortly after establishing her career, she welcomed her devoted daughter, Amanda with whom she always shared a special bond. Kathy and her daughter moved to Owasso, Oklahoma and were actively involved with the Owasso Band. You could often find Kathy running the concession stand at many of the band competitions. In her spare time, Kathy was an avid reader of true crime novels and would always boast she could complete the newspaper crossword puzzle in pen. While Kathy was happiest spending time at home, she had been known to frequent a casino or two with her sisters. In the last year of her life, she spent her time as a new grandma. Watching her granddaughter Sabrina always brought a smile to her face, and the two shared a fondness for Cocomelon.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Amanda Dycus and granddaughter Sabrina Dycus, brother Joe Wiesinger, sister Karen Wheeler and spouse Derek, sister Lisa Dyche and spouse Kelley, sister Nancy Bubon and spouse Derek, nephew Jason Wiesinger and spouse Michelle (child Ryoko) and niece Lindsey Black and spouse Heath (children Grayson and Theodore), niece Jennifer Neri and spouse Mario (children Alyssa and Christopher), niece Ashley Harrell and spouse Mike (children Lorelei, Elijah and Brynlee), nephew Kelley Jr and spouse Megan, niece Shelby Williams and spouse Eric (children Weston and Colton), nephew Nicholas Goddard, niece Rachel Wiesinger, niece Lauren Wheeler (children Poodie and Mimsy), and many extended family and friends.
