Did you buy a real tree this year?
Live trees can dry out quickly inside homes with furnaces running 24/7 so if you are shopping for or have a real tree, there are some things to keep in mind. First, make sure you choose a fresh tree by gently pulling on the needles. Very few should fall off.
Once you find your fresh tree, it is important to keep it watered as some trees could require as much as a gallon of water daily, so you need to check it every day.
This Christmas tree water formula has produced some great results – use the solution to water your tree and it will stay fresher for longer. First, cut off an inch from the bottom of the tree at an angle. Get a big bucket. Add a gallon of warm water to it. Mix in 1 cups of light corn syrup and 4 teaspoons of chlorine bleach. Use this daily.
Make sure your tree is in a safe spot, away from any heating sources like furnace vents and fireplaces.
