Keith Michael Carpenter was born August 5, 1980 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the proud parents of Jerry Lee and Carrie Lynn Knowland Carpenter of Owasso, Oklahoma. The Lord lent him to us for 39 years, calling him home March 30, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Keith moved with his family from Owasso, OK in 1982 to Talala, Oklahoma and to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1995. He was a 1999 graduate of the Black and Silver Brigade at Houston County High in Warner Robins, Georgia. He began his career at Macon Airport for 20 years earning many certificates and was issued his Mechanic Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license and ended as a respected crew chief at Embraer.
He married his love, Karen Louise McCarter Carpenter on June 3, 2006.
Although they didn’t have children of their own, he treated his nephews Kaden, Brennan, Jose and his niece Natalie as if they were his own. He was the “Cool Uncle”! He spent most of his time outdoors making a huge garden for his family, friends and even strangers to enjoy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and target shooting with guns. He loved grilling for friends and family and spoke highly about reminiscing with Karen’s grandparents before their passing.
But anyone who knew Keith, knew it was very important to him to be with his family and his passion was putting on a gigantic firework display each Fourth of July for everyone to enjoy both near and far.
Keith was a very caring, patriotic and talented man with a soul of giving. He touched the hearts of many by donating to various charities and giving to anyone in need.
Our son, the warrior, his battle has now ended, but will remain in our hearts forever as a best friend, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and husband.
Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include:
Parents; Jerry and Carrie of Collinsville, OK
Brother; Eric and his wife Julie, and their two sons, Kaden and Brennan Carpenter of Collinsville, OK
Wife; Karen Carpenter of nearly 14 years and his two canine pals Boomer and Sweetie of Warner Robins, GA
He will be missed by many family members and friends both in Oklahoma and Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James F. and Lela Knowland, uncle, Larry Roller, and paternal grandparents, James E. and Anna Marie Carpenter.
The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Keith’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
