Kenneth Wayne Spyke, resident of Owasso, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 72 years of age. Kenneth was born January 12, 1945, in Wyoming, Michigan, to Joseph Francis and Marie Catherine (Idema) Spyke. He was raised and received his education in Michigan. On July 26, 1980, Kenneth and Joyce were united in marriage at Kentwood, Michigan. Kenneth worked for Steelcase Office Furniture for 25 years. He and Joyce came to Oklahoma in 1993.
Those that survive include his wife Joyce; children: Carrie VanderJagt of Owasso, Todd Buchan of Owasso, Karin Toothman of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jason Reynolds of Grand Rapids and Kris DeKleine of Zeeland, Michigan; grandchildren: Shawn VanderJagt, Ashleigh Toothman, Aubrie Toothman, Jordyn DeKleine, and Nick DeKleine; great grandchildren: Payton Toothman and Madison VanderJagt; and five siblings. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Kenneth will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Joyce Johnson as the officiant. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
