In the late hours of February 24, 1988, we were blessed to welcome our beautiful son, Kraig Guylan Chambers. We brought him home from the hospital three days later on an unseasonably warm and sunny day. Almost every year on the anniversary of his birth, the cold weather would take a break and we would celebrate in the sunshine. That is so illustrative of his life. Everyone he touched felt his warmth and his gentle spirit. His hugs were the best and he shared them often.
Sheri and Kade were his world. He was his dad’s best friend and his mom’s teacher. His sisters adored him. Brothers, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews-Kraig blessed them all with his love and support. He thought of his friends as family.
Soccer was his passion but his interests were wide. He was as gifted with his hands as he was with his feet-what a curve he could put on a ball and a simple beauty can be seen in his carpentry. Kraig loved fishing, skiing, concerts and the demolition derby with his friends. He loved learning and a quiet moment around a fire.
Kraig was a spiritual soul and in his own quiet way he shared the love of Jesus through the life he led.
Please don’t die with him, but embrace your precious life and live for Kraig. Take up the baton as if he’d passed it on and be kind, help out and give hugs. Live and love big!
