At approximately 4AM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 an Armed Robbery occurred at the Taco Bueno restaurant located at 11925 E 86th St North in Owasso.
While exiting the building, after completing after-hours duties, the manager was confronted by an armed suspect.
Exterior and interior video surveillance shows the suspect force the manager back inside the store where he was forced to open the time delay safe. Video shows the suspect was armed with a knife and he implied he had a firearm in a pocket.
The suspect wore a dark colored zip-up hoodie, dark colored shorts and light colored slip-on shoes. The suspect concealed his face with a blue bandana and aviator sunglasses, and wore gloves. The victim, who was physically assaulted during the robbery, described the suspect as a Hispanic male with a thick Hispanic accent. The suspect did get away with the safe’s monies.
The victim ran to a nearby Reasor’s Grocery where he sought the assistance of an on-duty armed security officer, who called police. Owasso Police Officers arrived and utilized a K9 to attempt to track the suspect’s path away from the store, to no avail. The victim was treated by Owasso Fire Department paramedics and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
