SweetLena Mae (Patty) Sweet, 80, of Talala entered into heaven Monday, November 9, 2015, while surrounded by the love and care of her family. Patty was born April 13, 1935, in Owasso to Erna Lee and Pearl (Logsdon) Doshier. She grew up for her first years in Owasso, moving to Talala around 1941. Patty attended Talala Public Schools then later graduated from Oologah-Talala High School. She was married May 6, 1952, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Bill Sweet. A homemaker, Patty enjoyed her time with her family. After raising her family, she did work outside of her home in the cafeteria at Oologah-Talala schools and had long-lasting friendships from that time. She was a talented seamstress and loved quilting; and she also enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday school class at Talala First Baptist Church.

Her husband of 63 years, Billy Leon Sweet, of the home

Randy Sweet and wife Jayne of Madison, Pennsylvania

Hannah Clark
Lukke Sweet
Great grandchildren
Three sisters;
Thelma St. John
Peggy Plumer
Mary Geyer
And a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Diann Sweet-Thompson; her parents, Ernie and Pearl; three brothers, Bill Doshier, John Doshier and Leonard Doshier; and three sisters, Evelyn Fields, Jean Thiessen and Maxine Sweet.
Visitation for family and friends will be between 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Talala First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2015, with Reverend Randy Sweet officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Leonard Sweet, Steve Lewis, Larry Compston, Steve Sweet, Billy Sweet and Brent Salt. Honorary casket bearers will be Cody Sweet, Lukke Sweet, Barry Sweet and Michael Layton. Committal services and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Talala with Steve Lewis officiating. Donations may be made in Patty’s honor to Transitions LifeCare Hospice, 1515 East 71st Street, Suite #100, Tulsa, OK 74136. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
