Linda Louise Melone was born February 12, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Wilmer and Grace Helen Shannon Rath. She died Monday, June 26, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 69 years. Linda was reared and educated in Tulsa where she completed her secondary education. She spent most of her working life as a project support analyst beginning with American Airlines, then later with SABRE, and lastly with Electronic Data Systems. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Owasso where she was active as a volunteer. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening her flowers and vegetables. She also loved her dogs, Toby and Miss Molly, as well as her cat, Bentley.
Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Step-brother, Ron Stokes and wife Judie, step-sister, Raylene Stokes, sister-in-law, Debbie Davis Martin and her mother Joyce. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judy Rath, daughter, Tracy Davis, husband, Jerry Melone, and brother Bill Rath.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Osage Gardens in Skiatook, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 13307 East 96th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.
