Lola Belle Beene was born February 26, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Irven William and Lois Elsie (Walden) Roley. She died Wednesday, September 7, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. She was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Tulsa High School Class of 1945. She was married September 11, 1946, in Tulsa, to C.E. Beene. Lola spent most of her working life as a switchboard operator with the University of Tulsa. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing and her time as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Peggy Johnson, three sisters, Virginia Smith, Hazel Durham, and Doris McKay, and two brothers, Thomas Roley and Irven Roley, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Tulsa with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
