Spread the love
Louise JacobsHazel Louise Jacobs was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, throughout her 89 years of life. She passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her family by her side.
Louise was blessed with a long and full life. She was born on January 28, 1933, at her family’s home in Childers, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of seven children born to Bill and Effie Tatum. Louise and her siblings were raised in a home where hard-work and thrift were essential life skills, and she held onto those values for her entire life.
Louise attended Childers School from grade school until her high school graduation in 1951. After completing high school, she took a job at the City Cafe in Nowata, Oklahoma, and soon after, met the love of her life, Lloyd William Jacobs. They were married on May 15, 1954 and celebrated 61 anniversaries until Lloyd’s passing in 2015.
Louise will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her generous spirit, along with her occasional stubbornness and bluntness. She was a praying woman who never hesitated to share God’s message. Louise made it her mission to find out the needs of others and waste no time meeting those needs. Going to yard sales and purchasing items for her family and friends brought her the greatest joy. Several times, her home became a refuge for friends or family in need of a place to stay, a hot meal, or a just a cup of coffee and conversation. Louise had a big heart in addition to a big personality. Louise would let you know exactly what she was thinking, and you never had to ask for her opinion. Some of her favorite activities were fishing, gardening, canning, making and gifting fleece blankets, and visiting with friends and family.

Louise is survived by her children, Greg Jacobs and wife, Deborah, of Oologah; Pamela Cook and husband, Keith, of Claremore; Chad Jacobs and wife, Rebecca, of Oologah; and a sister, Barbara Geller and husband, Jack, of Bartlesville. Her grandchildren include Katelyn Ketchum and husband, Justin, of Claremore; Trevor Jacobs and wife, Kate, of Collinsville; Davis Cook and wife, Brittany, of Claremore; Madison Nealon and husband, Landon, of Tulsa; Carson Cook of Claremore, Cassady Jacobs of Bristow, Trista Parkman of Oologah, and Brylee Linam and husband, Conner, of Oologah. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Lilly and Bennett Ketchum, Keith and Nathan Cook, and Cora Jacobs.
Louise’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to her neighbor and dear friend, Becky Slover. When Louise’s health started to fail, Becky’s friendship, care, and devotion to Louise made it possible for her to remain living at home where she was happiest.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jacobs; daughter, Joy Jacobs; parents, Bill and Effie Tatum; Sisters, Bonnie Inman, Lucy Rainwater, Betty Roller, Joan Teel, and a brother, Paul Tatum.
