03/19/2019 – Owasso officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at a residence in Copper Meadows in which the resident had shot the alleged intruder. Officers arrived and cleared the residence, locating a man inside with a gunshot wound. Owasso medics responded and pronounced the 30-year-old man deceased at the scene. The 18-year-old resident was not injured and he is cooperating with investigators.
The investigation into this incident is in the very early stages. Detectives will likely remain throughout the night processing the scene. Upon completion of the investigation, their findings will be submitted to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office for review.
The deceased man has been identified as Zachary Daniel Sparkman, age 30.
