Marilyn Kay Dieker Nance passed away on the evening of Friday, April 12th, 2024. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Marilyn was born in Hastings, Nebraska on February 23rd, 1946 to William Eugene Dieker, Sr. and Inez Maude Walker Dieker. As a child, she lived in various locations around the country, as her father was a respected Construction/Engineering Superintendent. After the passing of her father, Marilyn settled in Pryor, Oklahoma in 1957 with her brother, Dr. William E. Dieker Jr., and mother. She graduated from Pryor High School in 1964 and furthered her education in teaching at Oklahoma State University as a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduated from Northeastern State University. She served her entire career with Tulsa Public Schools as a teacher and site principal. She was incredibly dedicated to all of her students and school community. Marilyn retired as Principal at Lindbergh Elementary after many years of impact in that role. After retirement, she served with the Assistance League of Tulsa. Marilyn married Paul Nance on June 23, 1972 and they have a son, David Nance. Marilyn and her family lived for many years in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was dedicated to her husband, Paul and her son, David. Marilyn was a passionate educator and was focused on her career. She also loved her family and grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed shopping and picking out gifts for her family. She also enjoyed long conversations on the phone with family. Marilyn was a kind, caring and gentle soul and will be missed.
Marilyn leaves behind a very proud family that will miss her very much.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Nance, and Son, David Nance; daughter in law, Lea Nance; sister in law, Beverley Dieker; aunt, Wilma Jean Adair; aunt, Margorie Wallace; niece, Kirsten Dieker; nephews, Bill Dieker III; Kevin Nance and wife; Darrin Nance and wife; Nathan Nance and wife; four grandchildren,
Skye Foley and husband, Alexander; Clark Nance, Alexandra Nance, and Colton Nance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Dieker Sr. and Inez Maude Walker Dieker; father and mother in law, Loy and Ruth Nance; brother, Dr. Willam E. Dieker, Jr.; daughter in law, Bobbi Nance; and niece, Jennifer Dieker Summers.
Rosary will be held 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church, in Owasso. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday April 18, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Owasso, Oklahoma.
