Mary Alice Bednar was born on June 28, 1934, in Novesta Township, Michigan to Clinton J. Bruce and Alice Geraldine (Stewart) Bruce. She passed from this life on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the age of 90 years. Mary was educated in Oxford, Michigan and graduated with the Oxford High School Class of 1952. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Central Michigan University and her master’s from Wayne State University. Mary was married on August 5, 1969, in Pontiac, Michigan to Paul Thomas Bednar. She spent most of her working life as a school librarian with Lake Orion Public Schools in Lake Orion, Michigan. Mary and her family moved to Owasso, Oklahoma in 1992. She was a faithful member of Rejoice Church in Owasso where she was active in the Joy class. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed a variety of past times such as reading, quilting, visiting National Parks, spending time with her family, and finding restaurants with good pie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Alice, three sisters, Martha, Patricia, and Linda, and her husband, Paul.
