Mary Ann Lewis was born June 29, 1940, in Fairland, Oklahoma, to Calvin Harding Houk and Gladys Marguerite Williams Houk. She transitioned to Heaven on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Mary Ann moved with her family to Broken Arrow and graduated with the East Central High School Class of 1958. She was married June 27, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Clem Richard “Dick” Lewis.
Mary Ann spent most of her professional career in the medical care industry, and continued her education at the University of Tulsa where she earned her Bachelors of Science in nursing in 1983. She loved working as a nurse in the newborn nursery, NICCU, cardiac care, and as supervisor of the pediatric mental health wing at St. John Hospital in Tulsa. She also spent time working as a home health nurse in the Tulsa and surrounding areas.
Mary Ann was a strong woman of faith and most recently had attended Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking and various types of needle work, but particularly enjoyed reading, reading, and reading more. She was an avid student of Bible study and Biblical prophecy. She was considered the hub of her entire family and was loved beyond measure by both family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Gladys Houk, husband, Dick Lewis, brother, Calvin Houk “Butchie” Jr., and daughter, Carol Ann Lewis.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Sherman Jaquess officiating. A time of viewing and greeting with family will be held one hour prior to the service. Final resting place will be next to her husband Dick at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Mary Ann’s request has always been for a celebration at her graduation to Heaven so the family requests those who attend please wear bright colors to help celebrate her HOME-going.
