Mary C. Brown was born May 16, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Cyrus Walter Hatch and Minnie Hester Bolton Hatch. She died Monday, November 21, 2022, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Mary completed her secondary education in Bixby, Oklahoma. She was married February 5, 1949, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to Vernon Brown. Mary spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a strong Christian woman of faith and was a longtime member of Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including listening to Bluegrass music and taking trips to Branson. She was especially fond of her role as “Grandmother” to her grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Herman Wood and Pastor William Adcock officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Carter O’Hara, Mike Smith , David Hatch, Don Kulp, Mike Brown, and Joel Carpenter. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to the Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 15320 North Highway 169, Collinsville, Oklahoma, 74021. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
