Mathew “Matt” Lee Hughett was born on July 21, 1985, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Michael Robert Hughett and Sherry Lee (Guthrie) Hughett. He passed from this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 36 years. Matt was raised and educated in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 2004. He earned a full ride to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he played Tuba with the Pride of Arkansas. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oklahoma State University. Matt spent most of his working life as a customer service representative with Allorica in Tulsa. He was a proud member of the Tulsa Community College Orchestra and Band. Matt was a member of First Assembly Church in Owasso for over 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed a variety of past times such as playing in the orchestra at Carbondale Assembly of God Church’s holiday events and spending time with his family and his beloved Golden Retriever, Caddy. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Bruce McCarty officiating. Interment will be held at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made in Matt’s memory to Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, 12697 East 51st Street South, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146 or Ward Wiseman Animal Haven, 15628 North 129th East Avenue, Collinsville, Oklahoma 74021.
