Michael Ray Carpenter was born February 23, 1954, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to James Earl Carpenter and Anna Marie Hardcastle Carpenter. He passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his immediate family, at the age of 67 years. Mike was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1973. He spent much of his working life as a Tile Setter, most recently with Tile Masters in Tulsa. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes and was a big fan of NFL and college football, GO POKES!!. He loved racing and was a huge fan of NASCAR. Mike also enjoyed relaxing spending time fishing or just hanging out with friends on the banks of the Verdigris River.
He was known as the “Cool Uncle”, and also loved his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Papa”.

Brother; Jerry Carpenter and wife Carrie, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Their son, Eric Carpenter, and wife Julie, and their children, Kaden and Brennan
Sister; Teresa Helton and husband Larry, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Their daughter, Shaina Ditch and husband Patrick, and their children, Emma and Avery
Their son Ryan Helton, his son Elijah, who live in Sparks and Nevada
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Marie Carpenter, grandmothers, Florence Carpenter and Hester Hardcastle, grandfather, Raymond Hardcastle, and his nephew, Keith Carpenter.
The family will be planning a celebration of Mike’s life at a later date. They request memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or www.stjude.org . Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
