Miss Amazing Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving girls and women with disabilities from ages 5 to elderly across the nation. They were founded in 2007 in the state of Nebraska and operate in 30 states. Their core program is a FREE pageant offered in each state that has a mission of building confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment. The program includes all abilities. To qualify one must provide documentation of a disability to include an IEP, IPP, 504 Plan, SSI, or other medical documentation.
The overall event includes an introduction onstage, presentation in evening wear, and interview with judges. The goal is to build skills. Each participant is guided during the day with a buddy they have been paired up with. A talent showcase is also an optional event that participants are involved in where they may share talents in dance, gymnastics, singing and much more. Miss Amazing is a celebration and a time to make new friends.
You can find them on Facebook or visit their website at missamazingpageant.com. The pageant will be held April 10-11 at UCO in Edmond, Ok. See the flyer below for details.
