Music of the 1940s coming June 6th.
First Baptist is located at 13307 E 96th St North, in Owasso.
The Owasso Community Choir will be presenting an unforgettable afternoon/evening of songs Saturday, June 6 – D-Day – when it takes a “Sentimental Journey” down memory lane.
Songs such as “Jersey Bounce,” “On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo, “Pennsylvania 5-5000” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” will be featured. On this special day veterans will be honored during the singing of “This is America,” noting the various avenues of armed services.
There will be two concerts – at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. – in the Educational Building at First Baptist Church. Admission will be $5 and veterans coming in uniform will be admitted free, along with anyone 12 and under. Advanced tickets will be sold. Tickets available at the door.
