After years of dreaming and planning, the new state of the art Rejoice High School Campus is nearing completion.
The 149,435 square foot middle school and high school will house two gyms – one doubling as a storm shelter – modern science labs, digitized smart classrooms, a 600-seat auditorium, and a cutting edge media center.
“We have seen a miracle unfold in front of our eyes,” said Rejoice Superintendent Dr. Craig Shaw. “Our excitement for the future cannot be expressed in words. We are stepping into a new season at Rejoice Christian Schools and we are humbled that our students have such incredible facilities to grow spiritually and intellectually for many years to come.”
The $50 million project included the Elementary Campus which opened October 2015. It also includes the new Rejoice Eagles athletics complex, comprising of a baseball field, tennis courts, locker room facilities, and a 2,000-seat football stadium.
“We are extremely excited about all the new athletic facilities that RCS will have to host competitions,” said RCS Athletic Director Brent Marley. “Having new facilities is exciting, but at the end of the day we realize they are just material structures. It is what we honor within and around those structures that counts. The buildings are just a tool that can be used to facilitate people while Christ is being shared and taught.”
The RCS dream came to pass because of a gift from the Eddy Gibbs Family Trust.
“We are honored to be the recipient of such a truly selfless gift,” Dr. Shaw added. “Our mission is to provide a high-quality education while preparing students to impact this world for Christ. This gift gives us the opportunity to do this for many generations to come and we are so thankful for that.”
The anticipated completion of the Rejoice High School Campus is August 2016.
