Nona Viola Adam was born August 13, 1936, in Salina, Oklahoma. She died Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Nona moved with her family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1942. She completed her secondary education in Tulsa and was a graduate of Webster High School. Nona made her home in Owasso in 1973 where she met and married Bobby Lee Adam on May 29, 1976. She retired after working with the W.K. Warren Foundation in Tulsa. It was after retirement that she spent several years working with the Lake Area Sertoma, of Skiatook, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but especially traveling to Tunica, Mississippi, where she would enjoy playing the “slots” with her friends and her mother, Clara.
Loving family members include: Her husband; Bobby Lee Adam, of the home Son; Gregory Lee Ingram, of Owasso She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Clara Phelps, and son, Bobby Lee Adam, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2014, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating.
